Break In O God! Susie Joy Mast (Dec. 17, 1989)
BREAK IN O GOD.. .as You did so long ...... with the birth of the Baby Jesus in the town of Bethlehem.... as he entered His world so filled with cruel oppression... and teeming with injustice and deep prejudice... He brought HOPE and dignity to so many in that day! BREAK IN O GOD... into our world today... by being born anew into our hearts and spirits... causing our lives to make a discernible difference... in turning the tide of bitter "REPRESSION"... and kindling= "the LIGHT of HOPE" in the hearts... of so many steeped today in hopeless despair. BREAK IN O GOD.. giving us a clear vision.. of Your call to REACH OUT to our brothers and sisters... regardless of their color, or culture, or status... and being to them the very heartbeat of Your love. BREAK IN O GOD... into our frenetic lives... of empty busyness.. and prayerlessness... and draw us into "Your EMPOWERING Presence"... so that we may go forth "Spirit-led and empowered"... as we seek to be "channels of Your living HOPE." BREAK IN O GOD.. through Your cup of power in the Eucharist... flowing through our veins.. .and then spilling over... into our lives and every step we take... so that we "become persons who break into our world... in ways that offer the newness that You came to bring... offering HOPE that burns brighter with each passing day." |
