Seek

Lord, may I walk behind You
on Your path
May I trust
You know the Way
May I remember
You are the Way
May I seek only
the Truth
May the Truth startle me
to know it
May my life
be full of You
May I not seek, nor choose, nor live
any life but You
May I yearn only
for the Way, the Truth, the Life.

Afterglow: To a young wife whose soldier husband has never seen their son.

A Bride, a Groom, a Wedding Ring;
And Marriage starts with God as King.
For they are blessed by Him above
When He is asked to share their love.

A Day, a Year, and Minutes fly
To shape one life while Time goes by.
And so, there is a broken heart
If two like these are forced to part.

A Note about a Baby’s Cry
Has brought them near since that good-bye,
Which quickly told the price of war
Before he left her at their door.

A Wedding, War, and Peace now too
Has made me with the Best for you.
That’s why I hope you’ll live in joy
When God brings George to meet his boy.

You Fulfill Our Dreams

God help me, Jesus.
I’m so lonely, Jesus.
Living here below.
But, I do know,
the Holy Spirit does come, each day
And dries my childlike sins away.
I love Jesus so very much,
Especially when I'm a spiritual crutch.
Oh . . . Lord, my God,
Who created me from the sod;
It is You and only You that I must please,
As I bend down to my knees.
No matter how dreadful life seems,
You fulfill all our urgent dreams.

God's Love is Ever Present

God's Love is ever present;
He knows our every need . . . desire.
He knows how to inspire us,
To bring us peace and tranquility.

It might be through . . . the sunrise,
The sound of a babbling brook,
The quietness of our favorite chapel
Or the comforting words of a friend.

Yes, God's love is ever present;
His ways are subtle and gentle . . .
Mysterious and sublime.
His love is infinitely embracing.

Oh! The Power of a Well-timed Word!

Oh! the power of a well-timed word. . .
  touched and anointed by the Spirit of God. . .
    it has power to pierce through clouds of despair. . .
      giving rise to NEW HOPE and strength to go on.

Lord, don't let my words be meaningless or shallow. . .
  or words that discourage or kill the human spirit. . .
    but words that upbuild, encourage, and bless. . .
      well-timed, sensitive, and Spirit-anointed words.

So attune me to You, so that I will speak. . . not only
  the right words . . . but also at the RIGHT time. . .
    because even right words, spoken at the wrong time. . .
      can be detrimental, causing more harm than good.

OH! LORD WAKEN ME MORNING BY MORNING. . .
  WAKEN MY EAR TO LISTEN TO YOUR VOICE. . .
    AND GIVE ME . . . AN INSTRUCTED TONGUE. . .
      TO SPEAK A WORD . . . IN SEASON . . . TO HIM THAT IS WEARY!
         (Isaiah 50:4 paraphrased)
