M. Let us carry our cross and give gratitude to Jesus
I. For those who suffer from depression, anxiety, and suicidal ideation and for those who care for them.

Mark 2:13-17

Jesus went out along the sea. All the crowd came to him and he taught them. As he passed by, he saw Levi, son of Alphaeus, sitting at the customs post. Jesus said to him, “Follow me.” And he got up and followed Jesus. While he was at table in his house, many tax collectors and sinners sat with Jesus and his disciples; for there were many who followed him. Some scribes who were Pharisees saw that Jesus was eating with sinners and tax collectors and said to his disciples, “Why does he eat with tax collectors and sinners?” Jesus heard this and said to them, “Those who are well do not need a physician, but the sick do. I did not come to call the righteous but sinners.”

Reflections: Are you willing to FOLLOW JESUS!

Jesus loved to be with sinners, he loved to be in the mess of peoples lives! Are we willing to walk with others as they try to heal from the messiness of life burdens?

Even as I may suffer, how do I walk with others as Jesus, helping those in need of spiritual and physical ailments?

Let us pray:

Good and gracious God, we ask you to bless us in our every day struggles with physical and mental health issues. Fill us with patience and grace and may they bring to your poor a light of joy and peace this day. May Mary your mother protect us each day and may be give honor and thankfulness to her son Jesus who walks with us in our suffering. Amen.
